Aride Island Nature Reserve

It is located 10 km north of Praslin and is also known as the Seabird Fortress of the
Indian Ocean. Visiting Aride is an ornithological treat and an unforgettable experience.
The island has been a bird sanctuary since 1973 and has been cleared of rats, since then

where you may observe hundreds of frigatebirds soaring above the turquoise sea.
Aride also has one of the densest lizard populations in the world and a unique flora.
